Let's start this post with a month by month guide of what to enjoy in Mexico. January and February are part of the dry season across the country. Although this time of the year is technically mid-winter, they are still warm months, ideal for exploring or beach time! January to March are the months to visit Baja California to see the visiting whales
This is the time when Monarch butterfly which have settled in Mexico's central areas start their migration to Canada.
Usually, the last months of the dry seasons are March and April, where the temperature are perfect for visiting beaches and relaxation. Yo can choose Chichen Itza for the spring equinox that happens on March 21st, a unique experience. If you are in Yucatan, don't forget the sightseeing of flamingos in Celestún.
April is also one of the best months to visit Chiapas and its natural treasures.
The hot season continues in May, but it is also the start of the rainy season. This is an excellent time to start visiting the beach. Try to find a nice hotel in Riviera Maya or Playa del Carmen and take tours to Xcaret and Xel-ha, two natural parks full of exotic animals to see underwater and take photos with.
If you are traveling in June and July, it is the time where the white sharks arrive to Holbox, a paradisiacal town full of cabins and sand roads. We recommend to book this tour with some anticipation, due to its popularity, many people likes to swim with this beautiful animals. July is the heart of Mexico's rainy season, although showers often arrive in the afternoon and shouldn't affect touring. This month is ideal for visiting the Riviera Maya because the hot days are cooled by rain showers in the late afternoon and the temperatures drop to a more pleasant level.
If you want to celebrate Independence Day with us, yo should choose September and you will see the firework festival in Mexico City and enjoy the big party dancing and drinking.
October is officialy the last month of the rainy seaon. However, high temperatues, heavy showers and humid conditions remain across much of the country. Then, in November is a good month for a visit to most destinations within Mexico because of the celebrarion to the Day of the Dead on Novembrer 1st, the festivities take place in central and southern Mexico to honor friends and relatives who have died.
On December is a popular month for travel to Mexico, the wheater is generally warm and dry across the country, it can get particularly buy around Christmas and new year, so, plan your travel well in advance
